Kipling Media

We do it all

Kipling Media had been recently founded by an enthusiastic small team. Signing bigger clients and more ambitious projects was proving difficult, though.

I lead the Creative team to conceive and adhere to a professional-feeling brand identity, including improved documentation and workflows to increase the quality and punctuality of our deliverables to consistently meet client expectations.

We felt the results immediately, as we achieved a nomination for the Small Business BC Award for Best Marketer.

Why did we decide to re-brand?

In fairness, very little had been done to brand the company in the first place. to Our website and deliverables felt plain and uninspired. Therefore, we struggled to convince potential clients of our capacity to help their business stand out.

We identified a few issues:

Our logo and style was generic and stale—is there a more uncreative way to illustrate creativity than a lightbulb?

The style, and ‘Raleway’ typeface in particular, did not align with our intended personality—and it is overused by hipster start-ups

There was no consistent colour-palette or graphic motifs, content was inconsistent and jarring

Our copywriting had no personality, our voice was dull and formulaic
